Get Involved!

Please let us know if you'd like to get involved with any of our WRS Committees!

Bylaws Committee

The Bylaws Committee shall be responsible for periodic review of the bylaws and provide recommended revisions when necessary.

Carrier Advisory Committee

The ACR CAC Network was developed to encourage communication and coordination among all radiology CAC representatives. The ACR is committed to providing as much assistance as possible to each CAC representative. In September 1999, the ACR Council passed Resolution 42, which called for the development of a state model for coordination and communication of local CAC activities. In addition, Resolution 42 encouraged the development of local subspecialty advisory panels to further aid local CAC members in the review of local Medicare policies. Adoption of the ACR CAC Networks and the model by the state chapters created a better organized and more effective mechanism for dealing with local Medicare issues.

Commity on Diversity

The WRS Committee on Diversity was formed to identify the major issues facing women and underrepresented minority professionals in radiology and radiation oncology in Wisconsin and to pursue solutions to these issues. Under the guidance of the ACR and WRS, this committee will work to promoting the success of women and Underrepresented Minority (URMs) in the fields of radiology and radiation oncology. The WRS Committee on Diversity will foster education, mentorship, and networking between women and URMs in radiology and radiation oncology to increase the number of women and URMs in the field and in leadership locally and nationally.

Economics Committee

This committee shall be charged with the duty of assisting members of the chapter in the practice economics of radiology in accordance with the principles and policies of the American College of Radiology. This committee will also relate to the third-party insurance carriers.

Education Committee

This committee will prepare programs for chapter meetings, socioeconomic workshops for residents, and efforts in continuing education.

Fellowship Committee

This Committee shall annually review the membership of the chapter for the purpose of nominating members to fellowship in the American College of Radiology. This committee should be composed of fellows of the College.

Government Relations Committee

This committee should anticipate and review legislation proposed that affects the practice of radiology in the state. Their findings shall be reported to the chapter for action.

Judicial Affairs Committee

This Committee shall be formed on an ad hoc basis. The Committee shall consider charges of unethical conduct involving a member of the chapter and shall transmit its recommendations to the Executive Committee of the chapter. The Judicial Affairs Committee shall be composed of three members appointed by the president with the approval of the Executive Committee. Where possible, except for the chairman, members of the Executive Committee shall not be appointed to the Committee on Judicial Affairs.

Membership Committee

This committee shall review applications for all classes of membership in the chapter and shall report its recommendations to the Executive Committee at any regular meeting. Recruitment activities shall be conducted by this committee.

Nominating Committee

This committee shall present to the annual meeting nominations for all offices established in these bylaws and shall, when possible, consist of three past presidents, and at least two members elected by the chapter who are not members of the Executive Committee.

Radiation Oncology Committee

The WRS Radiation Oncology Committee was formed to identify the major issues facing Radiation Oncology in Wisconsin and to pursue solutions to these issues. The Radiation Oncology Committee will foster education, mentorship, and networking among radiation oncologists to increase the number of radiation oncologists involved in WRS and ACR and in leadership locally and nationally.

Strategic Planning Committee

This committee should prepare a three-year activity plan for the chapter and should annually update this written plan to coordinate it with the goals and objectives of the chapter and the College.
