Board of Directors Position Descriptions:

President

The President shall be the presiding officer of the chapter and shall perform all the duties that custom and parliamentary practice associated with the office of the president. He or she shall be a member ex-officio of all committees and shall act as a chairman of the Executive Committee. The term shall be one year.

President-Elect

The President-Elect shall assist the President in conducting the business and implementing the policies of the Society and be a member of the Executive Committee. He or she shall oversee all committees, make sure that the committees are meeting and discussing issues that will be affecting the future of radiology, and perform such other duties as are prescribed by the Board of Directors. The term shall be one year.

Vice President

The Vice President shall assist the President and the President-Elect in conducting the business and implementing the policies of the Society, be a member of the Executive Committee, and perform such other duties as are prescribed by the Board of Directors. The term shall be one year.

Secretary-Treasurer

The Secretary-Treasurer shall review full meeting minutes of proceedings and action taken by the WRS office, report the funds of the chapter at all Board of Directors meetings, report the funds of the chapter at each Annual Business Meeting, review monthly financial reports provided by the WRS office, approve requests for unbudgeted expenses, sign as such officer, on proper warrant, such checks and papers executed on behalf of the Society as may be required by the Board of Directors and the financial policies. The term shall be one year. 

Councilor

Councilors shall serve as a representative from the chapter in the Council – the legislative body – of the American College of Radiology. He or she shall attend all meetings of the Society and of the College, familiarize themselves with activities and problems at the local and national levels, act as liaison between the chapter and the College and interpret each to the other; contributing to both groups’ ideas, guidance, and advice, and stimulate preparation of resolutions of the chapter for presentation to the Council.  Councilors serve a term of three years; he or she may be eligible to succeed himself or herself for one additional term of three years, but shall not be eligible for re-election to additional terms until a lapse of not less than one year. 

Alternative Councilor

Alternate Councilors shall attend all meetings of the Society, prepare to act for the Councilor whenever necessary, and perform such other duties as are prescribed by the Board of Directors. The term shall be one year.

Director at Large

Directors at Large shall attend all meetings of the Society, be available for special telephone conferences when called, and perform such other duties as are prescribed by the Board of Directors. The term shall be three years. A Director at Large may serve no more than two successive terms. 

RFS President

RFS President shall attend the ACR annual meeting, the annual meeting of the state chapter, and any other meeting of the state chapter as deemed necessary by the WRS RFS executive committee.  He or she shall be available for special telephone conferences when called, report on behalf of the Resident and Fellow Section at each Board of Directors meeting, act as the representative to the American College of Radiology RFS, appoint such committees as are necessary for the proper functioning of the WRS RFS, and perform such other duties as are prescribed by the Board of Directors. The term shall be one year.
